AFISCHER PHOTOGRAPHY was established after spending many years working in Washington, DC.   My wife, Caryn, and I decided it was time to leave and raise our two sons closer to family in New York and New England.

I began my active interest in photography using a 35mm Canon AE1 shooting in black and white film as a teenager.  I switched a few years back to digital as the quality of digital cameras and demand for immediate results increased.  Four of those years were spent as an editor, graphics designer, and photographer for the United States Senate Leadership.  My work has been displayed in the United States Senate during debates, in Senate Committee Rooms during special events, the Massachusetts Bay State Hospital’s Gallery, Springfield's Valley Photo Center, and the Amherst Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce.  

I have received letters of appreciation and recommendation from Senators Tom Daschle, Byron Dorgan, Hillary Clinton, Deborah Stabenow, Daniel Akaka and others for my photographs and graphics design work.

While I specialize in Wedding, Event, and Family/Portraiture photography, I have a large archive of travel, sports, architectural, and landscape/seascape photography.
